Conventions

Capitalization

When a word indicates a FHIR resource, it is capitalized. If it is used in an everyday sense, then it starts with a lowercase letter. For example, "this data is captured in an Encounter" refers to the corresponding FHIR resource. In contrast, "there was a brief encounter between them" uses "encounter" in an everyday sense.

This still leave room for confusion when the word is the first one in a sentence. In such situations, FHIR resources are emphasized as follows: Encounter.
